81st Putnam Mathematical Competition-Remotely

This is an announcement for the 81st Putnam Mathematical Competition that will take place on February 20, 2021
Over 4000 students from over 500 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada participate each year in this highly challenging mathematical competitionMore information, including previous winners can be found here. Have a look here for a list of previous problems and their solutions.

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Putnam Competition this year will be administered entirely remotely with no on-campus, proctored venues. Students will be able to download the exam on Feb. 20, 2021 from wherever they are residing, solve the problems on clean white paper, and upload their solutions to our exam platform. Students will receive scores for each problem and supervisors will receive a score report for all students from their institution. Unfortunately, there will be no prizes, no awards, and no national recognition of high-scoring participants.

All enrolled undergraduates who have not yet received a college degree and have not yet taken four Putnam exams are eligible.

If you wish to participate in the competition you must register here. Please contact Vasileios Chousionis, vasileios.chousionis@uconn.edu, if you would like to sign up.
